Created attachment 12 [details] updating firmware dialog. in current 'good' build 717, ( 724 is not working on Windows), following 'Step 1 of 2 ' and 'Step 2 of 2' ( STR_UpgradingPageCount) does not appear while performing the firmware update. during firmware updating, only see 'updating 2.4.7'. According to the UI flow and requirement, we need show these string.
Kuanshen - please explain why the dialog image is attached. Also - we likely won't change the string table if the string is not used. Nikhil, 7.31.18
this is not new string, it is already in the string table. this string should be used in the software upgrade window according to the UI flow doc ( "Update Progress Screen screen" at page 2 in DOC40010).
as I know our upgrade is at least 2 steps upgrade ( one step for firmware upgrade, one step for configuration setting).
My understanding from Brian is that this string would be used if we upgraded from A to B and then to C. Brian indicated at the time that we are not doing 2 step upgrades right now. Not sure if that is still the case. If it is, this string will not be able to be tested right now.
confirmed with Jordan and brain, this release is has one step. So this string should not be shown. please resolve the bug as by design.
Kuanshen - so this bug can be closed correct? Per DOC40010, Rev B, there is additional text: "Note: “Step 1 of 2” will appear above the line showing “Upgrading vX.X.XX” if there is a multi-step upgrade ."
yes, please resolve this to 'Invalid' or 'won't fix'.
